Moontide Design service agreement

Moontide Design operates proudly as a professional graphic design service, providing amicable customer service that maintains a relationship with clients based on the mutual agreement of the following terms. By entering into business with Moontide Design, client consents to the terms of this design contract on behalf of themselves, and/or their organization or business.

consultation

Clients may contact Moontide Design by phone, text, or email, and make appointments for in-person meetings. Clients agree that in-person meetings lasting more than 30 minutes are subject to a consultation fee. Clients should provide a project budget, timeline, and desired format for final deliverables.

Communication

Clients should provide a contact number and/or email, and agree to communicate in a timely manner. Clients who are part of a team are also encouraged to appoint a single person for revision correspondence to eliminate the possibility of miscommunication and crossed messages.

Estimates and Hourly Rate

A project’s estimate is based on an hourly design rate and the information given by the client in the initial consultation. Moontide Design will inform client of any additional costs for the purchase of fonts or job-related design materials. Moontide Design offers competitive prices informed by the current market and based on similar services offered in the area.

Revision Process

The client is encouraged to provide as much detail and clear direction as possible from the start to ensure an efficient revision process.

graphic Design for print and web

Moontide Design will create a design concept for a client’s project. Total project fees may be negotiated in lieu of an hourly rate. Further revisions will incur additional costs at Moontide Design’s current hourly rate.

Logos

Client will be provided with one or more logo concepts, depending on scope of project. Up to three rounds of revisions are included in quoted price. Further revisions, as well as requests for additional logo variations, will incur additional costs at Moontide Design’s current hourly rate. Logo variations include but are not limited to: black, reversed, full color for print, full color for web, stacked, horizontal, and simple icon for social media accounts.

Print Management

Moontide Design is happy to communicate with third-party entities on behalf of the client for an additional print management fee. When ordering from a third party on behalf a client, a resource fee is charged for all passthrough costs, and a nonrefundable 50% down payment is required up front.

Approval and payment

Moontide Design will recommend industry-standard formats (.pdf, .eps, .png, .jpg) for final deliverables, depending on the client’s project and the expected use of the files. Upon approval, files are provided as email attachments or via the Cloud, unless otherwise arranged by client.

Once a project has been completed, clients are responsible for saving files and understand that requests made to Moontide Design to retrieve files at a later date are subject to a consultation fee.

Invoices are sent upon completion of a project and are due on receipt.

Ownership and copyright

The client has ownership of the final design for use in any media application that is beneficial to the client’s business. Unused concepts remain the property of Moontide Design. Moontide Design retains the right to use the final design, or any versions of the design created in the process, within printed and on-line portfolios, including promotional materials such as newsletters and advertisements. The client also gives Moontide Design permission to use client’s full name, business address, and/or website address, for testimonial purposes on our website, or other business-related media. The client understands that it is the client’s responsibility to copyright the logo design (www.copyright.gov) and/or seek trademark (www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm).
